Live Webcams.Hi My elderly parents want to do a 15 day Hawaiian islands criuise on Pricess Cruises and I am told it could be stormy weather.

Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated. The advice I have is don't worry about it. The ships are totally aware of the weather and can avoid any major weather problems. My real question would be why not have them fly to the islands and spend the entire 15 days in Hawaii?

I assume they are cruising from somewhere on the mainland, and the time they will get to spend in Hawaii will be greatly reduced getting there and back. And they will be subject to mostly overpriced options for tours and sightseeing while they are actually in the islands. I suggest you consider other options. Ask on the forum pages here for suggestions and ideas on where to stay and what to do. Start by reading the topics on the right hand side of the forum pages for Hawaii and all the different forum pages for each island.

We swam in the MIDDLE of the Pacific Ocean and our SAILING ROUTINE - Ep. 129

It was in early November and seas were quite rough. However, a year later, friends had a smooth sailing. That being said, I did not like the cruise very much at all. Only 5 days in the islands!!!!! We have done 11 land trips to Hawaii and 1 of those trips included the NCL cruise through the islands.

I just looked at the itinerary on the Princess site, leaving from San Francisco. Four days at sea before you even get to the islands. Four days at sea afterwards. A random stop in Mexico likely to get around the "no two U.

Then another day at sea. If the point is to see Hawaiiover half the trip is spent not in Hawaii. It can be stormy on any cruise. Ship captains know how to sail around weather though. I agree that Hawaii is best seen on a land vacation. However, there are times when a cruise may be more convenient or enjoyable.

Check out Cruise Critic to learn more about cruising than you will every need. Ships aren't airplanes. They can't just find a smoother altitude. They can't change course in a snap. I have taken a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii in early November - and it was fine. But you live in San Ramon. You know that storms if such things still exist can be common in November and December - and that most come right off the Pacific. We can't predict the weather any better than you can or we would be very rich!

If your parents have issues with falling, sea-sickness, etc. Another thing - I took the ship TO Hawaii You need to arrange with the cruise line if you want to do this.

That fact that there are so many days at sea is not a bad thing. Cruisers love to cruise!Rolex Giraglia Race. Rolex Middle Sea Race. Rolex Sydney Hobart Race.
